I catch a lot of fish on SD and they seem to hold up for me. I like catch and release if possible. It’s always good to get in the habit of keeping tension on your fish in my opinion.

I don’t use more than 8oz.  It gets harder to cast and reel in.  If I need more than 8oz then surf probably too rough and crab will just bury themselves in sand.  I crab when surf is less than 550kj wave energy
